WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE
My name is rainerbanks and I am a practising professional artist. I am working on a variety of art projects including personal projects, preparing work for exhibitions and galleries, as well as designing for clients. I also work as a part-time educator, teaching post-production skills to degree students studying photography, moving image and media production. This is my personal folio site, displaying a range of projects that I am currently working on. Using different media applications for each project — from digital technologies to traditional art application. These are mostly all on-going projects that show my work-in-progess and I am still actively engaged in most of them. I hope you enjoy looking at my work!

STYLISED SQUARE FORMAT IMAGES
Images captured from different locations, and cropped to a square format then they are stylised in the digital darkroom (post production software - Adobe Lightroom) and Photoshop.
Printed on high quality museum archival papers 120x120mm
LEE FILTERS BIG STOPPER & ND GRAD FILTER
Digital Capture converted in post to Black & White. All coastal scenes / seacapes from around the coast of Britain. To create the smooth flat water and the dynamic sky I used a range of filters to increase exposure time..
VIDEOGRAPHY - NEW PERSPECTIVES
Digital technology, better software and processing power, has given me the opportunity to revisit moving image, something that I haven't done for a while. It is very useful to record my own moving research material for illustration purposes later.
ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR PROJECT
British motorcyle illustrations using a combination of techniques starting with sketches/ hand drawings and finishing with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
STILLS: LIVE DOCUMENTARY WORK
I have several stills documentary projects that are active, because they are long term projects that require re-visiting places and further development.
A PHOTOGRAPIC COLLECTION
The New Forest. I am interested in the diversity of the environment and nature. What a place of visual exploration and discovery!
